How Lola went from Crickets to Crushing her Goals

Last week, Lola posted this in our Members only Group:

“I crushed my March sales goal finishing with a 69% increase in sales from the previous year in March! An even bigger win? I’m seeing the potential for an additional career path if I don’t want to work in the chair all day as a side gig until I reach my sales goal.”

And when I saw her post, I knew I had to get her to share, because I know that a few short months ago she was ready to pack it in.

Turns out, Lola had a breakthrough after a Planning Session a few months back where we did a deep dive into the new “Plan your Year” lesson in Conversion School.

Lola tells me the lesson completely shifted her mindset, and the way she was thinking.

Instead of thinking:

“What am I doing wrong?”

She started tracking her numbers and asking herself:

“What work should I do to change this number?”

Fast forward a few months, and Lola’s no longer worried about sales. Instead, she’s Crushing her Goals.

The story of how this tiny shop quadrupled sales by changing one thing

We’re working away on our Roadmap to 50K journey, but last week we switched it up, to share an inspirational story that I think some of you need to hear right now. 

In fact, it might be the most valuable lesson you’ll ever learn.

The story starts with our very own Inner Circle Member, Ilse Kopper. Ilse has such an interesting story and has been on her very own Roadmap journey.

And it’s paid off! This year, Ilse has quadrupled her monthly sales from an average of $3K a month to an average of $12K every single month.

She has been in business for 6 years, and for the first time this year, she’s passed $100K in sales and is on track to do $200K in 2021.

How did she do it? 

First, she made a really great decision and joined the Inner Circle last January (click here to get on the waitlist for January 2021).

Second, and this is where it gets even better, she created huge momentum one baby step at a time.

How Madeline changed everything without spending a fortune on ads

I want you to meet someone special, because I think you’ll get huge value from her story.

Madeline’s business, Colorful Cute,  has been very much a side hustle since she opened her shop in 2017.

Like so many of us, she was busy with her day job, 3 kids, and all the things.

And really, her results weren’t great. Last September, she only had sales of $152.

But earlier this year, she made 3 changes that made all the difference.

This past September, her sales were $3,569.

She’s on track to do even more this month.

Here’s why you’ll find Madeline’s strategy so compelling:

It won’t cost a thing. Just your time.

Here’s what Madeline changed:

First, she decided to hold herself to a higher standard (this is the brilliant part).

She realized that the standard of work, the consistency, the follow up, and the strategy she was using in her own business would never cut it for her employer.

She made a decision to show up at her own business, and perform like a manager should, even though she wasn’t able to work full time hours, she was able to schedule her time, and give her best effort.

Once she changed her mindset, and decided to show up as a manager, she gave herself permission to stop doing all the things. Instead, she took a good look at what was working for Colorful Cute, and decided to double down on only that, and leave the rest.

Lastly, she did a deep dive and did the legwork to understand exactly who her customer is, where they hang out, what they talk about, even the words they use, and then she put together a plan to engage with them consistently on Instagram.

Once she had the plan, Madeline got super focused, and consistent on just those few things. 

And now, instead of struggling to get a few orders a week, she feels like she’s just scratched the surface, and the potential for her success is huge!

Ilse’s doing a lot right and she has the results to prove it.

Since she joined the Inner Circle in January, her sales have more than quadrupled!

Her traffic is strong, at more than 10K monthly web visitors, a great average order value of about $55, and a solid repeat customer rate of 33%.

She’s winning!

And she’s achieved all of this even though she has a small market in Costa Rica, where e-commerce is much less common than in the USA.

Even though she’s got so many successes in her business, Ilse applied for 15 Minute Feedback because there’s one thing she’d really like to change this year.
