Besides having an amazing website, Crystal is super smart and a strategic thinker, so when she posts in our group, I listen.

A few weeks ago, I asked our Members to share their wins, and Crystal reported that her online sales are up 82% this year.
Given that it’s been a tough year for some, I wanted to know more – and Crystal gave us all a breakdown of what she had done to get those sales. I thought it would be great to share on the podcast.
But when we started chatting I realized Crystal had even more to share.

In 2022, Crystal decided to prioritize applying for Grants, both for cash and education.
And the outcome was amazing. In total she got 4 Grants. It was a game changer for her.

2022 brought some big changes for us Ecommerce store owners, and I think it makes sense to start this year off by sharing what’s been working to grow sales, what’s NOT working, and what’s super exciting for Ecommerce store owners in 2023.

I’ve been working in eCommerce for 12 years, and for more than 6 years, I’ve been sharing what’s really working for people like us – we’re entrepreneurs, we don’t have huge budgets, or huge teams – we’re building our businesses on solid foundations – step by step

This week I’m sharing 3 things to do this week.

Here’s what you’re going to do:

• You’re going to take a snapshot of where you are in business, right now
• You’re going to think about exactly where you want to be in business a year from now
• You’re going to identify the “changes”, and put them in order of priority

And as you do this, you’ll be able to see what you should focus on to get the results you want.

This is an exercise I do every year. It helps me get clear on what I really want, and actually, see where I need to focus so that I reach my goals.

Recently, I had an eye opening experience that flipped my thinking about being busy.

About 5 minutes later, I had an “aha” moment when I connected the dots and realized how much money we waste in our business when we operate in a constant state of busyness.

In this episode, I’m sharing my ridiculous story because it demonstrates how easily we fall into this pattern.

The short version is that I want us to be more aware of how we go looking for solutions to solve our “noisy” problems.

We hire a virtual assistant, an expert, or buy a course, or join a program.

And then we only go half way, and we don’t get the results we hoped for.

We can’t abdicate responsibility for our results, yet we do this all the time.

I made a list of tips for working with Experts and Service Providers.
I think it works for Courses and Programs too.
When you follow this process, you have an improved chance of success:

• Communicate the outcome you’re looking for
• Get buy in from the expert
• Find a way to measure the results
• Ask them what they need from you to be successful
• Make it easy to work with you
• Demonstrate that you are invested, and they’ll be more invested
