I’m collaborating to grow my sales. Here’s how I’m doing it.

This week, I’m taking you behind the scenes and sharing the details of my next collaboration at Sock Doggo.

Here’s why that’s important for you:

It doesn’t cost you anything upfront.

The ROI is usually much better than any paid marketing you will ever do.

AND every one of you can do this too.

In fact, collaborations are so profitable, that I’m creating training on how to do this for our Inner Circle members.
(Get on the waitlist here)

Today I’m sharing:

→ The secret to finding great people to collaborate with, it’s a simple trick. The key is to find a partner who already has an audience of BUYERS, not FOLLOWERS. You’ll have a massive advantage if you collab with people who have an audience that is used to them making offers.

→ The key to making it a win/win for both of you. Make sure that there is value ‘in it’ for both businesses. In most cases, a financial incentive or a reciprocal arrangement works best.

→ A step by step walkthrough of my next collaboration. Watch the video to see a step by step of how we’ll be rolling out a great Collaborative event. You’ll meet the amazing Claire Wolfson and hear about her uber-successful Brand Rep program.

PS – My collaboration partner, Claire Wolfson owns BeanGoods.com. She recently made a great little course that shows you how she uses text marking to skyrocket her sales.

I bought it, and I highly recommend it.

My strategy for building an audience of buyers and it won’t cost you a dime

My strategy for building an audience of buyers and it won’t cost you a dime

You really can build an audience of buyers for free. And more than that, you can get genuine feedback on your products. Feedback from the people that matter.

I want to share this with you because it’s not hard or expensive.

The back story:

We’re about to order socks for four new breeds.

We don’t have an audience for these products, and I want to make sure we’re designing socks people will buy.

Plus, I’d love to build an audience of people who are waiting to buy them when they arrive.

Here’s the outcome I want:

  1. I want feedback from my ideal client before I finalize my new designs.
  2. I want to create awareness for my products and start building an audience of people that will want to buy them.
  3. And, I want to do this without spending a fortune.

The good news is, with this strategy, we achieved all three!

Want to learn how we did it? You need to watch this video now!

Here is a glance at the steps we took:

Step # 1

Find the Facebook Groups with your target audience. In this case we sought out dog lovers of the 4 new breeds we’re featuring at Sock Doggo.

We used a spreadsheet to track these!

Step # 2

Reach out to the Admins of these groups to get permission to post.

We used this simple script:

Step # 3

Post a clear question that is simple to answer. We used a makeshift poll to engage our dog lovers.

See our post below:

Step # 4

Capitalize on the feedback and use it to refine your designs or product.

You can see that we got more than 900 comments! We learned that 40% liked the blue sock, 30% liked the yellow, and 29% liked the green.

Once we had the feedback, we made some adjustments to the designs.

Step # 5

We created a separate post and asked the Group for feedback on what we should call the socks.

*PRO TIP: Watch the video to see how we can retarget these people and get them on our email list using ads!

What’s next? Next steps to $50K

What’s next? Next steps to $50K

I really want to reach $50K in sales by the end of this year.

And I know that there are 2 things I need to do to reach that goal.

One is exciting and lights me up.

The other, well…. I’m afraid to do the other thing. Really afraid.

But, here’s the deal. That one thing (the scary thing) will get me to my goal faster and without spending a pile of money on ads.

That’s the goal, right?

So, what is it? What is the big hairy scary thing?

Here it is:

Add more “me” in my business.

I know from experience with our Inner Circle Members that in most cases, the people who have created a connection with their audience get more engagement, sell more, and pay much less for traffic than those of us that don’t.

Time to drink my own koolaid.

I’m starting with a few baby steps.

Watch this video and learn:

  1. Exactly the steps you need to take to reach your goal without spending a fortune on ads.
  2. How to make connection points with your audience.
  3. And, how to just “Get over yourself” and add more ‘you’ into your business

And I am also sharing some exciting news!

I’m making Sock Doggo a People First Company.

What that means is that we’re committed to providing a living wage to a group of women in Istanbul, Turkey.

Izabela Erşahin, my friend and client, is the founder of Sector 7.

Sector 7 provides training in the assembly and making of beautiful products, in a safe environment for a living wage. Allowing these incredible and resilient women to provide for their families.

I am proud to collaborate with Sector 7 for the making of Sock Doggo products as we journey towards 50K.

Our best sales month: 4 things that mattered

Our best sales month: 4 things that mattered

Sock Doggo just had our best month on record!

It’s an exciting achievement and I can’t wait to share how we did it.

I am going to walk you through the 4 things we did that contributed most to our sales.

It’s important, because these are things that every one of you could do, and every one is a strategy that you can repeat.

If you’re following the Roadmap to 50K on Shopify, you know that I am committed to taking you behind the scenes so you can see what I do that works to get traffic and sales. Years ago, when I was building Wee Squeak’s online sales, I could buy lots of training, but I couldn’t find anyone who could just show me what to do, one step at a time.

At Sock Doggo, we just recently moved from the Traffic Stage. I’ve finally got enough traffic thanks to Traffic Bootcamp. I’m finally getting sales almost every day, and I’m headed into Conversion School hoping to hit my first $50K this year.

In this video, I’ll share our June sales, and walk you through the 4 things that mattered most.

Or, here is a quick glance at the 4 steps we took to have our best month yet.

#1 Pay Attention to What Works and Double Down

Yes, it really is that simple.

In late May I noticed that we were starting to sell more men’s socks. It was a lightbulb moment, and I realized it was because of Father’s Day in June.

So I doubled down on that win by creating more emails and more posts about gifts for Father’s Day, and I moved all my ad spend from Ladies to Men’s socks.

#2 Create an Email Plan for the Month

This month we mapped out 4 weeks of  email campaigns that helped me get more free traffic and sales.

  1. We kicked off the month by celebrating our Celebrity Doggo,  Doggo Harry’s Birthday with a free shipping day.
  2. Weeks 2 and 3 were all about our Father’s Day Event where we offered a 4th pair for only $5.
  3. The last week of June, we simply featured our Stars and Stripes socks for Dachshund lovers.

After all of that, we were still $40 short of my stretch goal.

So,  we did a quick 1 day flash sale, which is a little trick from the Marketing Momentum module in our Inner Circle program.

(You can check out our Inner Circle Membership here)

#3 Get a Pop-Up and an Email Welcome Series

This is a must.

With all the campaigns and ads, your site will see an increase in traffic, and good traffic at that! A pop-up is a great way to collect emails and get potential buyers into a welcome funnel to convert.

At Sock Doggo we offered a $5 coupon and our opt in rate was solid. We also got more than $400 in sales from our Welcome Series emails.

#4 Add Fuel to Fire with an Ad.

Adding fuel to the fire is about building on your success at exactly the right time.

In this case, I was building on the momentum around Father’s Day and I decided to do a bit of experimenting with Facebook Ads. While I had marginal success with these ads (I still only have 1 product!!), the potential for this to be wildly successful is there.

My advice, keep this trick in your back pocket and learn to recognize when you can use it to build on an existing campaign.

That’s it! This is what it took to have our best sales month yet!

So Simple right?

Our Inner Circle Member, Kelly, has a cool little Shopify store called ShopRollick.com She’s doing a lot of things right. Her site looks great, she knows her numbers, and she has a small but mighty base of loyal customers. But here’s the thing: Her sales are about...

Here’s how I’m getting a sale every day.

Here’s how I’m getting a sale every day.

Sock Doggo has officially completed the Traffic Stage.

There are three stages we go through as we build our stores.

Stage #1 is Traffic.

When you’re in the Traffic Stage, your goal is to get 3000 web visitors to your store every month.

100 a day.

At a 1% conversion rate, you can usually get one sale every day you get 100 web visitors.

My new business, Sock Doggo, has been in the Traffic Stage since the doors opened in November.

My main focus has been traffic because you can’t get sales without enough traffic.

But after doing Traffic Bootcamp for a few months, we’ve been able to get our traffic up over 3000 visitors each month.

The best part about Traffic Bootcamp is that you really do learn how to find the right audience.

When you start driving traffic to your site, and they are the right audience, you start to get sales.

At first, the sales come in slowly, but over time, as your traffic inches up, the sales get more regular, and you start to feel like you’re going to get this!

***Traffic Bootcamp is a great way to learn how to find your perfect audience using Facebook and Instagram ads. It’s the best way to get quality traffic without spending a fortune. (see it here)

My next steps?

I’m headed into Conversion School. (It’s a training module in our Inner Circle program.)

Even though I still have to keep my traffic up to 3000+ monthly web visitors, I’m finally at the fun part, where I can start working on turning those web visitors into buyers!

The first thing I did was use my Conversion Goal calculator to see how much traffic I’ll need to reach my sales goal.

You can see it all here, including the calculator in action!

Want your own Conversion Goal Calculator?

When you join the waitlist for the Inner Circle, we’ll send you a free lesson from Conversion School, and a Conversion Calculator that you can download and use to set your sales goals.
