At the end of August, we completed our first 10 months of sales at Sock Doggo.

To be honest, when I look back at where we were and where we are now, it’s easy for me to feel disappointed about my progress.

I think that for many people, that’s common.

In the Inner Circle, we do a lot of tracking and measuring.

We track Key Metrics to see our progress.

We do this for two reasons:

1) To understand what works.

2) To take the emotion out of business.

That last point is critical. As business owners, we need to stop feeling our way through the days and instead use the data to drive our decisions and to provide clarity on our next steps.

Today I’m sharing my Key Metrics with you.

Watch and see:

  • My Traffic
  • My Conversion Rate
  • My Sales

In the Screenshot below, you can see my Key Metrics for the first 10 months of business at Sock Doggo.

We’re at the Conversion Stage. In the Conversion Stage, I’m actively working on getting my add to cart rate up. My first goal is to increase the add to cart rate from 2.59% to 4%.

If I can reach that goal, I should be able to get an overall Conversion Rate of 1%.

That’s not my end goal, but it’s a good start!

I know that there’s one thing, above all other that can increase my add to cart %, and get me more sales.
I need to to focus on getting more returning visitors to my site.

In the screenshot below, you can see that the conversion rate for returning visitors is almost double that of new visitors.

So my “one thing” going forward is to increase my returning visitor % from 11% to 30%.
