How Lisa Stice Grew Cherokee Copper to Multi-Six Figures Without Ads

If you’ve ever wondered how to build and scale your business without relying on paid traffic, Lisa’s journey is one you don’t want to miss. Lisa Stice is the co-founder of Cherokee Copper, a family jewelry business that she grew into a multi-six-figure success—all without using ads.

Lisa and her husband, Greg, started Cherokee Copper out of necessity. Greg was making authentic, modern Native American jewelry, and Lisa decided to invest her last paycheck into equipment and an Etsy store. When she had to leave her job due to health issues, they realized they could turn their hobby into a full-time business. “Sometimes, you have to take a leap of faith,” Lisa shares. That leap turned into something much bigger than they ever imagined.

Scaling a Jewelry Business in Uncertain Times—How Lisa Made It Work

When the pandemic hit, gone were the in-person art shows and craft fairs they had relied on. Lisa’s business model needed to change—fast. So they pivoted to online sales, setting up a Shopify store and leveraging email marketing. “I knew we had to get creative,” she says. So, she started hosting virtual art shows to keep sales moving.

Despite the uncertainty, these virtual events kept their business afloat.

No Ads, No Problem—How Consistency Fueled Lisa’s Growth

Lisa’s strategy is simple but powerful: consistency. After joining The Inner Circle in 2021, she tripled her sales without spending a dime on ads. Her secret? Email marketing and regular online events. “Instead of chasing shiny objects, I decided to implement one training at a time and focus on consistency,” she explains.

It wasn’t about doing everything; it was about doing the right things, repeatedly. This approach allowed her to grow sustainably without the pressure of constant ad spend.

“The key to our success wasn’t ads—it was building a connection with our audience and engaging them through email marketing.”

Tracking Your Way to Success: Why Numbers Matter

If there’s one thing Lisa emphasizes, it’s the power of tracking. She keeps a close eye on her sales metrics, average order value, and other key numbers. “Looking at your numbers helps you spot growth opportunities and stay motivated,” she says.

By tracking long-term trends rather than daily fluctuations, she was able to make informed decisions that fueled her growth. This approach allowed her to see what was working and double down on those strategies.

Breaking the Six-Figure Barrier: What Changed for Cherokee Copper

In 2022, Lisa’s hard work paid off—Cherokee Copper hit $126,000 in sales. She refined her marketing efforts, improved her event strategies, and focused on consistent growth. “When we finally broke into six figures, I realized it was just the beginning,” Lisa shares.

In 2023, Lisa doubled down on what was working and set a goal to grow her email list to 10,000 subscribers. She tested different lead generation methods and focused heavily on customer acquisition. “We realized the importance of building a solid customer base, and that’s where we put our energy,” she explains.

By tracking her cost per customer and investing in strategies that brought in new leads, Lisa managed to double her sales again, reaching the $200K mark.

From Family Business to Legacy—Lisa’s Vision for Cherokee Copper

As Cherokee Copper grew, Lisa’s son joined the team as the operations manager. This allowed Lisa to focus on marketing and growth while freeing up her time. Her vision is to turn Cherokee Copper into a long-lasting, sustainable business that could eventually be passed down within her family.

“Our goal is to create something sustainable—a business that can grow beyond just us and last for generations.”

Consistency is Key: Lisa’s Advice for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

Lisa’s journey is proof that consistency and focus are the keys to success. Her advice? “Stay focused on what works, track your progress, and avoid distractions that don’t align with your goals.” She believes that steady, consistent action will always lead to results.

It’s all about building momentum, one step at a time, and not getting sidetracked by shiny new strategies.
